The BGAMUG computer club is getting ready to have a fun meeting next month. The meeting is on Tuesday, November 22nd, at 6:30 at our usual location. The map on the web page shows the OLD way of getting to the meeting. Now you take the second entrance at the right and go around in a circle until you reach the building.

Members of the group are now getting APCUG updates by email, via the APNUG Nooz online magazine. If you are a member of BGAMUG, you have a chance to go to the APCUG cruise meeting which is January 23-27. Some of our members attended this last year. Interested? Come to a BGAMUG meeting to find out more.

Neva is in a play! And links to Blood Relations play and FSP

I found out from a recent club email that a member of our group, Neva, is in a local play. Here is part of the email from our President, Jerry G.

"Our member, Neva , asked that I pass this on as she will be in a show called   Blood Relations.  The story of Lizzie Borden.  Sort of a murder mystery.  

 

The play will be at the Phoenix Theatre  across the street from  Tidballs.  They open on Thurs. 10 Nov. thru 13 Nov. at 8pm.  There is an afternoon show on Sunday 14 Nov. at 3pm."

Why do people not want to run for office in BGAMUG?

This is my own opinion, and not anyone else's.

But I have wondered why people don't want to be officers in the BGAMUG club. I don't mean NOBODY wants to, but most people aren't elbowing each other out of the way to be the first person to sign up for that.

Some people HAVE wanted to run for office though, and this will make the elections more fun next month.

Maybe people think it would take up too much time. Here are other reasons I bet people don't want to be an officer.

#2. It would tie up another evening to go to officer's meetings.

#3. The job sounds uninteresting.

#4. People think they can't do the job because they don't have qualifications or enough know-how.

#5. People think that the job would be too hard.

#6. Nobody wants to hurt anyone else's feelings.


 #7. They don't really know what is involved in being an officer.

Can you  think of any other reasons?

November Election Meeting, more

ELECTIONS - - ELECTIONS

Elections are being held next meeting, as well as a presentation on the program Streets and Trips by Jerry Gillette. He is always fun to hear!

Our next meeting is on Tuesday, November 22nd at 6:30. The Genealogy SIG meeting is before the regular meeting, at 5:30.

During the October meeting, we got to hear about Jerry and Paula's  trip and see some great photos last meeting too, including one of her sister.

Send me ideas for the blog and for the Facebook page when you think of it. I appreciate that!

Also, Paula wants ideas for people to get awards at the Christmas Party.

Free computer classes in Bowling Green

Some people already know about these great classes that are at different libraries in Bowling Green. They are offered on different days and times. You must pre-register by phone to be in these classes.

Wednesday, October 12th

A free computer class, E-mail for Beginners, is at the Main Branch library from 6-7 p.m. You must pre-register to attend. Call 781-4882.

Thursday, October 13th

A free computer class, Email for Intermediates, is today from 2-3 p.m. at the Main branch library. You must pre-register to attend. 781-4882.

Another free computer class, Facebook for Beginners, is at the Bob Kirby Branch library from 6-7 p.m. You must pre-register to attend. Call 782-0252.

Friday, October 14th

A free computer class is today from 2-3 p.m., Introduction to Macs, at the Bob Kirby brach library. You must pre-register to attend. Call 782-0252.
