A Newbie's Guide to Facebook from Cnet News
I like this Newbie guide I found today.
Here is the link:
The Newbie's Guide to Facebook
It goes through the steps for joining Facebook and explains how to adjust your privacy settings too. This article also tells you how to add friends, your photo, and more.
It's a winner of an article.
If you are in the BGAMUG Computer Club, they have a Facebook page now. Here is how you can go there:
(just click the link: Go to the BGAMUG Facebook Page). After filling in your information, (or logging in) you can add the BGAMUG page by clicking on the "Become a Fan" button at the top.
There you have it! You can now access all the postings, AND you can post your own Wall Postings under the Fans section. There are 14 members there so far. If you add yourself, you can make it 15!
Let me know how it goes.

The meeting went great
The meeting went great with Greg Ericksen at the International Center today. We talked about donating computers to the group and even possibly making a nice computer lab for the refugees there.
I didn't take pictures, but will upload some here soon. For now I will put a generic picture on the posting. Something nice.
We took a look around and saw the tentative choices for the computer room(s) and storage room(s).
Up next: a visit to Abel Court to see how they are set up. I will keep you posted about this.
Where did this photo come from? I downloaded it from Morguefile.com. You can use any of these pictures you want there without worrying about copyright. They have a Creative Commons license that says

Trip to the International Center is tomorrow
Two club members (Joe Easterling and I) are going to the International Center tomorrow to talk to the Educational Director, Greg Ericksen, about possibly furnishing computers for the refugees there. We will see what their needs are.
We will check out what rooms are available and also go outside and see what kind of storage they might have.
I will post some pictures here after we go.

Video about FREE computer classes (Word, Excel, The Internet on a Mac)
Hi BGAMUG group!
I had a video link here that told about some upcoming computer classes that are FREE at the Bob Kirby branch, but it got taken off by the TV station at the source.
Tina Brewster will be giving classes in Word, Excel, and going on the internet for Mac users. I would think that all computer users could benefit by the class, if just to see how a Mac works.
Sign up before going to each class. This Thursday's class is already full, and so might the other class. Class attendees will bring their own USB mouse.
Thanks for stopping by!
