Board Meeting at Jerry's Restaurant is tonight, 6:30 p.m. Interested Members can attend. More about it...

Dear my fellow BGAMUG Members,

As you probably know, the motion to DISBAND the BGAMUG Computer Club lost by only 2 votes two meetings ago.

I and C.G. Haley are calling the BGAMUG membership to find out who can step up to be Officers for the coming year. We have some neat ideas for the Club, and would like to see it continue.

We already have some Members stepping up to be Officers. We need more, plus people who can be on other Committees later on.

The Board Meeting for BGAMUG is tonight at Jerry's Restaurant near the Corvette Museum. Those who want to eat dinner there will meet at 6 there, and others will join us for the Board Meeting at 6:30.

All Members of BGAMUG are invited. In fact, you may want to attend if you want the Club to continue. Why? Because some of the Board members may be discussing others ways of disbanding the Club. Jerry Gillette sent out a memo with four kinds of decisions we could make about the BGAMUG Club.

One is keeping the club, and going on. There are 3 other choices listed. To be clear, C.G. and I want to continue the club. Everyone except one person we have called this and last week ALSO wants BGAMUG to continue.

If you can make this meeting tonight, I think it would be helpful. Please let C.G. and I know your thoughts and if you can attend. Or leave a comment! :-)

Tuesday, October 22, 2013

Hi, all!

This is Betsy, your friendly Webmaster again.

The Newsletter is posted. It has details about the Christmas party on it, plus lots more. Click here to download it.

Our October meeting room is Building G, Room 119 on KCTCS's (SKYTCC's) Main Campus today, Tuesday, October 22nd.

November's meeting place will be back at Building F's Conference Room (again at the Main Campus).

Jerry has sent over a map which shows the way, and also states that Signs and parking assistance will be available. Thanks, Jerry! See you there.

The Genealogy Sig is meeting again that day at 5:45. We will learn more about entering information into FamilySearch.org from census records.

The presentation has been changed this month. Via Jerry, we will be talking about several interesting topics:

One will be about the future of Windows XP, and the other on a new meeting concept called MEETUPS.

Attached is a copy of the APCUG Reports of which these topics were taken.

AND we will NOT be voting yet! That is next month (thanks for that info., Jerry!)

But nominations will be taken.

If you would like to volunteer to help the club as an Officer, contact Jerry G. He will be glad to hear from you.

His web address is on the Newsletter, which you can download here.

Here are the Officer positions that are open:

President
Vice President of Protocol
Secretary
Vice President of Membership
Treasurer
Vice President of Technology

An FYI Update: BGAMUG Computer Club news for July.

Here is an update for BGAMUG Computer Club members and friends.

Well, that was interesting last month! We had a meeting scheduled, but there was no place to park, as the school was re-doing the parking lot.
So we are waiting to hear about where we will meet next month. I have gotten a few emails and have put some information here.

Right now, we have some meeting ideas which have probably moved a bit.

July, Jeri Steele (Photo Editing in Office 10)

August - Jerry G - Keyboarding 1001

September - Auction (This event is really fun!)

The BGAMUG Board meeting is now July 9th.

I hope everyone's computer is doing fine. :-)

Happy Computing!

Video about FREE computer classes (Word, Excel, The Internet on a Mac)

Hi BGAMUG group!

I had a video link here that told about some upcoming computer classes that are FREE at the Bob Kirby branch, but it got taken off by the TV station at the source.

Tina Brewster will be giving classes in Word, Excel, and going on the internet for Mac users. I would think that all computer users could benefit by the class, if just to see how a Mac works.

Sign up before going to each class. This Thursday's class is already full, and so might the other class. Class attendees will bring their own USB mouse.

Thanks for stopping by!
